MY DAY

I’m Rositsa Naneva. I work as a teacher at “Mother Bulgaria” Primary school. Education in Bulgaria is compulsory for all children aged between 7 and 13. Primary school is for students aged 7 to 13. At the end of Year 7 students sit the tests and the results for each school are published in specific tables.

I often start work at 7.30 in the morning. I teach between four and six classes every day. Our school has got a morning and an evening shifts. This means that some students  have classes from 7.30am to 12:30am and others from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. That’s why I’ve got classes in the morning and in the  afternoon. Students have six classes every day. Each lesson lasts 40 minutes. Every day I have a different schedule but it’s generally the same from week to week. After the 3^rd class we have a long break for breakfast. It lasts 20 minutes.

I usually arrive at school 10-15 minutes earlier because I need to prepare myself for the day. I welcome children and then I have to take mark diary of the class.

Sometimes I’ve got only 2 classes. That’s why I like Fridays best – I haven’t classes after lunch. That all about me.

A COMMON WORKING - DAY

                      I have been teaching Geography for about 20 years now. Every morning I get up at 6:00. I am usually at school at 7:00a.m., because the first lesson starts at 7:30. I have to prepare the maps, to instal the multimedia in advance...Mondays are my buziest days. I have lessons with 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th  grades. Difficult age and a lot of students with so hard characters! But the lessons slip by! Time flies longing for the tasks and aims I had set myself. During the lessons we visit different countries, meet people and cultures from all over the world...The last lesson had already finished but my day at school-not yet! That was just our morning shift. After that is "The consulting hour" for my students. They can get help with their homework, lessons, projects...A short break and my students from 5th grade wait for me! After that is the best part of my job. I have a module "Talents" with very gifted students. Although the hours for that work are not enough, I am proud of my dedicated to Geography sjudents! Every year they do their best at National competitions.
                      At the end of my working-day I am really tired but pleased with my students. It is time to go home. I usually walk. That way I can watch the world and people going by,meet friends. When I get home, I am exhausted. I rest for a while and get ready for the next day at school. At about 7:00pm I have time for my family. We share thoughts, watch TV /usually "The news" and a Bulgarian film/. At 10:30pm I watch "Slavi's show" and go to bed. What a buzy day!                                                              
                       I think that my job is really tiring and very emotional. But I like and love it a lot! It gives me strenth and makes me feel satisfied !

SNOW SCULPTURE

We are children from Hecho (Spain). We are eleven and twelve years old. Yesterday we did our art class in the playground. There is a lot of snow and we did some sculptures.

An Ordinary School Day

Everyday, i leave home and hurry to catch the daily ceremony at school before the lessons start in which children take an oath to be a good person. At 9.10 everbody is in their classrooms and the school calms down after that rush. As i’m an ICT teacher, I have 6 lessons per week for the 6, 7 and 8th classes. My lesson is an optional subject for students and only 1 hour for 1 class. Today, i have only one hour with the 7th grades after lunch. However, i’m at school all day from 9:00 to 15:00 because I am the IT Counsellor of school as well.

After the morning conversation with collegues, i go into my computer laboratory and turn on my faithful friend :) Checking personal and school e-mails, working on the school website, entering various datas are the ordinary things i do. And of course, any time a computer, a printer or any other hardware can be broken and need me! I also help other teachers and managers about computer using. And my smart children have always something to ask in the breaks. They like to blow into lab. when the door is openJ
These days, comenius activities have filled the gaps of my working hours and i like it. Today, i’ve spended an hour in the lab., organized my boards and than gone to the primary block to take some photos of the 2th classes. They were doing an activity about music and i’ll publish it on the website. My lab. is in the first block where there’re 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades as secondary classes.

At 13.10 after lunch, it’s time for lesson. We’re studying Microsoft Office Excel with 7ths, they like to work on computer although they would prefer games;) Technology is in the centre of our lives today and all of our children should learn the right way to use it so i try to succeed at this in my job.

Finally, the last bell rings at 14.40 and all the students sweep of the classess! Now, i had beter finish some more work or i can have some tea with my friends in the teachers room. Oh no! It’s friday and i was almost forgetting the final ceremony of the week. Let’s go and sing our national anthem. Later, some tea?

ONE DAY AT MY SCHOOL

 

Today I woke up at 6:30 a.m and I left my home  at 7:15 a.m. My school is not close to my house so I must use 2 different bus lines to get there. I arrived at 7:45 a.m and I went to my classroom to leave my stuff and tidy my desk. Then I went to the teachers' office where we usually sit until the bell rings at 8:10 a.m for the start of the classes.
After the daily prayer in the school yard we go upstairs. My classroom is located on the 3rd floor as we are the E class and my students are not very happy since they feel sleepy and tired every morning. But then the lesson begins! The first two hours we had Language and at 9:40 a.m we had our big break for snack and rest. It seemed strange to me today that our headmaster did not inform us officially about school issues or problems. We do this every day in almost every break! It's exhausting but necessary, too...
When the first break finished we did Maths and Physics which are my students' favorite subjects. We were taught about the digestive system and discussed on healthy eating. After the second break I had a one-hour lesson with the sixth grade. We went to the yard to play football and basketball. It was the students who played, not me....!!!
Next, I had a moment for a bite and some rest! My students had English lesson and it was a good chance for me to drink coffee. However my headmaster asked me to arrange something about the school programme and be informed of Comenius progress. After I relaxed a little during the 6th session, I entered the classroom for my last teaching hour.
We do not have a German Teacher at school so I am with my students every 7th hour on Friday and we all together learn German using the internet. I really enjoy this hour and so do my students since we are all equal!
At 14:00 the courses finish and we are free, teachers and students. None of us can leave bedore the end of the lessons without the haedmaster's permission. I liked seeing my students' smiles when they left school and I felt very proud of them because they are honestly well-behaved children and they try their best... It was a beautiful day.
